YRT offers seamless connections across the nine municipalities of York Region with easy access to neighbouring transit systems in the City of Toronto, Durham Region and Peel Region.
TTC in York Region
There are five TTC bus routes operating directly between York Region and the City of Toronto, offering you a convenient way to connect without changing buses.
Here's how the fare system works when travelling on TTC bus routes in York Region:

If your trip starts and ends north of Steeles Ave., you will pay a YRT
fare when you board a TTC bus. You can request a transfer from your
driver to use additional YRT services in York Region -
If you are travelling southbound across the City of Toronto boundary at
Steeles Ave., you will pay a TTC fare and YRT fare when you board
the bus. You can request a transfer from your driver to use additional
TTC services in Toronto -
If you are travelling northbound across the City of Toronto boundary at
Steeles Ave., you will have to pay a TTC fare when you board the bus and a
YRT fare when you exit the front door of the bus. You can request a
transfer from your driver to use additional YRT services in York Region
If you are travelling on the TTC subway, you will pay TTC fare (regardless if you are in Toronto or York Region)
Please Note: Currently, customers using TTC bus routes in York Region are advised not to use PRESTO, and to continue using paper tickets or passes, the GTA Weekly Pass or the YRT Pay app. PRESTO does not yet provide a way to pay both TTC and YRT fare using a PRESTO card. TTC is working with PRESTO on a solution, which will be communicated once available.
Customers using TTC bus routes in York Region may continue to purchase YRT paper tickets and monthly passes at existing Fare Media Agents in Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham and Toronto. All Fare Media Agents that currently sell the GTA Weekly Pass will continue to do so. Visit the Where to Buy page for your nearest agent location.
All multiRide ticket vending machines, with the exception of the one located at Newmarket GO Bus Terminal, will continue to sell 10-pack tickets and monthly passes.

GO Transit in York Region
GO Transit provides train and bus service throughout the Greater Toronto Area for commuters in York Region. For more information about GO Transit, including routes and schedules, visit gotransit.com.
YRT's Ride to GO program allows you to get to and from GO Train stations without the hassles of driving or parking for just 1 dollar. You must have valid prepaid GO fare media in addition to your $1.00. For more information, visit our Ride to GO page.
GO to the airport
GO Transit Route 40 provides frequent non-stop service, seven days a week, between Richmond Hill Centre Terminal, Highway 407 Station and Pearson International Airport.

Brampton Transit Züm
York Region and the City of Brampton have partnered to offer an integrated rapid transit service for riders travelling between Brampton and York University.
Brampton's Züm rapid transit service operates between downtown Brampton and York University along the Queen Street corridor in Brampton, and Highway 7 in York Region. York Region's Viva orange service continues to operate along Highway 7 between Martin Grove Road and Richmond Hill Centre Terminal.
