The TTC Line 1 Subway Extension is now open for service!
Six new stations have been built along the extension. Three are located in York Region:
Stations and Terminals
Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) Station |
The station is located at Highway 7 and Millway Avenue.
The SmartCentres Place Bus Terminal, which will be located adjacent to VMC Station, will be open for service in 2019. In the meantime, Routes 10, 20 and 26 will service temporary stops on Millway Avenue, at Highway 7:

Highway 407 Station |
The station is located at Highway 407 and Jane Street. The below YRT services will service Highway 407 Terminal:

Pioneer Village Station |
The station is located at Settler Road and Steeles Avenue. The below YRT services will service Pioneer Village Terminal (located on the north side of Steeles Avenue):

How many stops will the TTC Line 1 Subway Extension include? |
The subway extension will include six new stations and 8.6 kilometres of track. See list of stations above. |
How often will the trains run? |
Generally, trains will operate every 2 to 5 minutes, depending on the time of day. |
Are the stations and terminals accessible? |
Yes, all the new stations and terminals are fully accessible. |
Will there be public parking at the new stations? |
Commuter parking lots will be available at: Finch West Station with 347 spaces, Pioneer Village Station with 1,881 spaces, and Highway 407 Station with 583 spaces. These lots are owned and operated by TTC. TTC will not have parking lots at Downsview Park, York University or VMC Stations. |

Where on the York University campus is the subway station located? Can I access YRT buses from this station? |
The York University Station is located at Ian MacDonald Boulevard and York Boulevard. YRT buses can be accessed from bus stops located on Ian MacDonald Boulevard (where service is currently provided).

Fares
Do I pay YRT or TTC fare when I use the subway in York Region? |
Customers must pay TTC fare when boarding the TTC subway, and YRT fare when boarding a YRT bus. |
Will I need to pay an additional fare when transferring to/from a YRT bus and the TTC subway? |
Customers will be required to pay TTC fare when boarding the TTC subway, and YRT fare when boarding a YRT bus, as they do currently. |
Will all the new stations be equipped with PRESTO card readers? |
Yes, all six stations will have PRESTO gates/readers, and each of the new terminals in York Region will have PRESTO fare equipment. |
Can I use the YRT Pay app to board the subway? |
No. The YRT Pay app will not be accepted on the TTC subway. Customers must pay TTC fare to board the subway. |
